Without a doubt this is the best cabinet door locking system for RV cabinet doors that tend to pop open from vibration or movement while travelling down the road. There is some work involved in installing them (4 holes to drill for each door assembly and screws to install) but the effort is well worth it. We had always had a problem with doors popping open due to pressure of heavier items inside pushing against the doors as we travelled on bumpy or uneven roads. This has completely eliminated the problem. You only have to lock/unlock them before or after travelling. You leave them unlocked when stationary in a campground. We only installed them on the 6 doors that were causing the problem because of the material in those cabinets. There is no visible clue that you have a lock installed when the doors are closed and they can be removed and installed on different doors later. Any strong magnet will open the doors in case you lose the original magnet. When you apply the magnet it simply moves the lock latch while you open the door and then you can manually lock the latch in the open position. When you want to re-activate the locking mechanism you just open the door and flip the switch to allow the latch to engage when you close the door. We are fulltime RVers and in the 6 months we've had them they've worked perfectly.

I'm a big fan of this lock system. My main issue is the price, but considering what you get I think it's worth it. At first, I went to a local store and got the usual cabinet locks that you push down after opening the door slightly. I was trying to save money, and these were something like 20 latches for $8. Well, I stopped installing them after the first one because I hated it so much. It's flimsy and I'm sure it'll break, especially because the door can open about 4" before it catches! That surprised me. I figured it would open about 2" at most so I could stick my finger in there and clear the latch, but no, my son could stick his entire arm and shoulder into the cabinet and reach a LOT of stuff. So I bit the bullet and bought my first kit of Safety 1st magnetic locks and I'm glad I did. Every complaint I had about the traditional cabinet latches was eliminated by these locks. I wouldn't say their construction is perfect, but it's just fine for the purpose. I love that the door can't open more than a couple mm, which should help prolong the life of the locks because my toddler isn't enjoying the experience of opening and slamming the door. I also LOVE the ability to disable the locks easily. When we put our son down and I'm planning on doing a lot in the kitchen, I'll unlock the most-used doors and drawers, and I'm not slowed down by having to use a key. It's great! Installing the locks is pretty easy, but you'll need tools like a drill. If your cabinets have a fairly large inset panel, you might have some trouble installing these locks, especially if your cabinet doors also overlap the opening significantly. I only had that problem a couple of times and worked around it by finding a better placement for the locks. After the first few installs, I found I stopped needing the [excellent] templates for the most part, and could figure it out on my own. The drawers were the trickiest and most difficult, but I eventually got those done too. I can't say enough great things about these locks. Because of our floorplan, we have no way to keep our toddler out of the kitchen, and I wouldn't want to anyway. It's nice to not have to worry about him getting into every single cabinet. NOTE: do not buy the single key. It currently goes for $9 which is absurd. If you need an extra key, buy some strong rare earth magnets for your fridge, and glue one to some sort of handle. The keys are nothing more than a magnet encased in plastic.

They work wonderfully as long as they are working! Huh? The first set I ordered the magnets didn't work beyond a half inch. Well that's not good enough considering they are supposed to work a couple inches beyond that. Contacted customer service and inquired as to whether my key was faulty and that's why they weren't working. They shipped me a new key at no cost, but the problem remained. Contacted again and they sent a whole new set out. They stand behind their product and want to ensure that you are completely satisfied. The new set worked as advertised and we have been very happy with them. Installation is simple with the guide that comes with. If you get confused, YouTube is your friend. Would definitely use this product again.

Preface: Absolutely Freaking Amazing! Pro's: 1) Easy to lineup and install. After the first or second, you become a pro. 2) Directions were easy to read and easy to follow. 3) Cost efficient 4) Completely hidden from view so your kitchen continues to look awesome! 5) When installed correctly ~ no cabinet rattle. Con's: 1) Wish it shipped with more than 1 magnet tool. 2) Wish there was another color option (black perhaps?) Conclusion: My only negatives aren't really even con's. That's because this system is awesome! We originally installed a set at our old house several years ago when our first born son was born. They worked great, and I absolutely loved the fact that they were hidden from view and easy to manipulate with the tool to get them open. When we moved last year, we ordered up another set because we now swear by these things. Once the kiddo's grow up, I doubt we'll even remove ~ we may just keep them on the cabinets and explain to the new owners/renters how to use them. We have encouraged several new parents to purchase, and are aware of atleast 1 couple that has and absolutely loves them! If I could rate this 10 stars, I would! Its been that awesome!

I know these are probably made for young children, but I bought them because my son has autism and he is no longer little - he can reach all the same cabinets I can because he's almost a teenager. He thinks he can do more than he actually can... such as experimental cooking in the middle of the night :-( So I bought a pack of these to test them out. Figured if they didn't work, I'd give them to someone with smaller kids to lock them out of lower cabinets. Installed one and tried to pull the door open afterwards - I am a very big, tall woman - door didn't budge. I'd have to literally rip it off the hinges to open it. Have not had any trouble as of yet with my son opening any cabinets now. Might install them on drawers too, haven't decided yet. Of course this means I have to wear the key on my person (even in my sleep, or hide it well) but small sacrifice for a kitchen that doesn't look like a cyclone hit it.

I have a very active 10 month old that loves to pull things out of the cabinet and hide in them. I ordered these upon a recommendation from a fellow mom with little ones and I LOVE these cabinet locks. They are easy to install with the drill hole guide that came with them, you just put your template on the cabinet and follow the screw hole drill marks to install them easily. The key is very strong magnet that I haven't had any issues with yet getting locks open. I keep the key stuck to the fridge up high for easy access and remembering where I put it due to only getting one key with my set. I will be ordering more to put around the house, if you have cabinets that need to be locked from little ones, pets, other people, etc. these are the ones for you

Great product. I've read reviews where people struggled with the installation. My installation was very smooth. Information to help with your installation. 1. Read through the whole procedure before starting. 2. When pealing off the backing of the template remember you're pealing off a thin piece of wax paper not the foam backing. The foam stays with the template to aid the transfer from cabinet to door. 3. You stick the template to the door frame first, mark the holes and then transfer to the door, the was not very clear in the procedure. 4. If your doors have the little rubber stops this will probable cause a problem because the door will have a gap. Take a sharp box cutter and slice the stoppers down to reduce the gap in the door. What I like best is with a switch you can turn them off so when the little ones are not over it is as if they are not even there. Flick the switch, back to keep them out mode.

These locks are the absolute best investment we have made for baby-proofing our home. I've seen so many that are unsightly or don't work well or are a nightmare to install, so these seemed like our best bet. Boy was I right! You would never know they were there if not for the fact that the cabinets won't open unless you have the key. They are so simple to install that it took about 30 minutes to install 4 from first glance. After that, if we don't need the safety locks engaged a simple unlock on each of the locks mechanisms keeps them unlocked for as long as needed. I'm really happy that we ended up choosing these locks, they've done a fantastic job at keeping dangerous household items away from our toddler.

Amazing product that keeps the face of my cabinets clear of the annoying baby straps. I finally bought these after constantly replacing the little spring locks after my kids yanked them off. These keep the door locked against the frame and kids haven't been able to get them open or break them. I appreciate that they work for drawers when there is a counter overhand where the spring locks never worked. The installation instructions and template ensured a simple and very quick installation on both drawers and cabinets. Whomever thought of the self-adhesive templates that did both latch and lock positioning in one was a genius and they provided one template for each lock. I also love that they can easily be disabled whenever necessary without removing them. I do wish more than 1 magnetic key was provided for 8 locks as we've already lost the original.

These are the best child protective locks I have ever used. What makes them so good is that, when the grandkids go home, you can turn them "off" so you can get back to normal. Also, it only takes a minute to walk around the kitchen and bathrooms and re-arm them when the grandkids are coming. Also, the mounting templates that come with the locks are ingenious, although the 'targets' for holes are a bit off from where they should be. THAT SAID, THE HARDWARE THAT COMES WITH THEM IS NOT VERY GOOD. The screws included with the locks should be standard pan-head Phillips #6 sheet metal screws, not the junk screws they send. Why? The heads of the screws are too small; for some installations, you have to tighten the screws down quite hard, and this will damage the mounting flanges on the locks and strikes. If you buy these, locks, go to your local hardware store and get a box of #6 pan head Phillips sheet metal screws, and throw out the stock screws. I've installed nearly 40 of these, so I have some experience. Also, get a box of #6 washers. Using both washers and good screws will ensure that you can tighten the screws enough to secure the locks/strikes in place without damaging their mounting flanges. Those little tykes will bang on the cabinet doors trying to get in, so you need to make sure the locks and strikes don't budge.
